World-wide recognition from the blogosphere
YulMedia has quickly established itself as a leader in the blogosphere. Thanks to well-thought strategies, its specialized blogs have succeeded in creating high-level interactions with leading manufacturers such as Sony, Microsoft, Apple, etc., and world-wide communication agencies.
Since the company’s creation, in 2006, founder Stéphane Dion has literally invested all of his energies in blogosphere projects, often driven by a genuine passion for specific emerging technologies.
At the forefront of their respective key markets, and with an avant-garde edge, YulMedia’s blogs have conquered specialized publics world-wide and have, at times, reached the very highest peaks of the prestigious blogosphere ‘hit-parades’. Here is a short description of these highly dynamic sites.
iPhonefreak
Launched in January 2007, this blog (obviously!) dedicated to Apple’s iPhone technology was in full flight when, in June of the same year, Typepad, the world-wide blog reference, covered it in an enthusiastic front page story. At the top of the charts for quite a while, it constantly remains one of the top international references in its field. YulMedia had also picked the “right rumor” at the launch of the site, rightfully guessing the name retained by Apple. This inspired choice and the quality of information provided, have contributed to generate a communication interaction that keeps evolving. The site averages 250,000 single pageviews per month. It appears stable in search engines and the number of links pointing to it is also growing. The site was recently quoted by the AFP News Agency, The Daily Telegraph (UK), The Guardian (UK) and Le Journal de Montréal.
Note: millions of blogs are built with Typepad, but only 300 per year are the object of a cover story on the leading site.
ClicZune
Another well regarded YulMedia site, ClicZune is dedicated to the sharing and publishing of information, technical data and savvy opinions pertaining to the downloading and music playing technologies provided by Microsoft’s Zune devices. And Stéphane has proudly realized that even Microsoft was monitoring ClicZune very closely! Established in August 2006, right after the Zune launch, the site is independent from any manufacturer or supplier of products or services designed for this technological platform. More than just a blog, ClicZune has become a reference tool, a universal resource that offers pertinent information on new announcements, product benchmarks… and the most up-to-date info. ClicZune has been quoted by numerous media and specialized sites.
HDDVDfreak
HDDVDfreak is an independent blog dedicated to visual contents (films etc.), players and other products related to the HD DVD high-definition standard. Established in July 2006, the site pursues its mission as a space reserved for the publishing and the sharing of information between specialists and fans of this emerging technology. Totally independent from manufacturers and producers, the blog faithfully conveys the industry’s pulse and offers benchmarks, visual material, analysis and educated comments as well as, of course, the most recent products and events news.
Blurayfreak
Launched in the summer of 2006, Blurayfreak is an independent blog which acts both as information sharing platform and publisher dealing with all aspects of the BLU-RAY format. To maximize objectivity, Blurayfreak is not associated with any entity, enterprise or organization that promotes the technology. It provides the latest and most useful information, new product news (with pictures), benchmarks and, of course, well informed comments and opinions. This blog is quickly becoming the information leader in the world of BLU-RAY and it has drawn the attention of major studios – Sony, Universal, Warner – and major PR firms such as GCI Group.
Go-Quebec
Initially launched to promote independent coverage of the 2007 Quebec election campaign, GoQuebec has rapidly earned public respect and appreciation during this period and was frequently quoted by conventional media for its appeal to both the public and specialists. It became notably visible in the media with its ‘out of the booth’ survey which generated tens of thousands of pageviews, a few weeks only after the blog’s launch… with cost less than $500. in promotional budget! Go-Quebec gives ordinary citizens a tribune to express themselves without constraints, yet in a manner respectful of others. The site is now being restructured for a wider mission as a public forum, dealing with all aspects of Quebec’s political and social life.
